ABOVE ROMANCE

LAST NIGHT MY GIRLFRIEND AND I DECIDED TO DO THE OBLIGATORY 'DINNER AND A SHOW'. WE HEADED DOWN TO EAST LONDON ALREADY A LITTLE HEADY ON WINE AND SETTLED DOWN IN A GRAND OLD THEATER TO CONSUME SOME LESSONS IN LOVE. ABOVE ROMANCE FOLLOWED A STORY WRITTEN BY KOJO THE COMEDIAN ABOUT A MATTER OF FACT FEMALE WHO STICKS UP TWO FINGERS AT LOVE AND THE HYPE SURROUNDING VALENTINE'S DAY. BEING THE LAST SPINSTER IN HER CIRCLE WE GOT TO SEE HOW 'THE ICE BOX WHERE HER HEART USED TO BE' SLOWLY STARTED TO MELT AWAY. THE PLAY BROUGHT PLENTY OF LOL'S (SPECIAL MENTION TO MARSHA LEANNE-CROSBY) AND TALENTED EYE CANDY (SPECIAL MENTION TO MY FRIEND DUKE DADZIE) AND ALTHOUGH THE FREQUENT SET CHANGES PROVED A LITTLE DISTRACTING AT TIMES, IT STOOD FIRM IN DEPICTING A WARM AND RELATABLE MODERN DAY TALE THAT TAUGHT ME I MAY STILL 'FIND LOVE IN A HOPELESS PLACE'.
